fun facts friday

December 7, 2012

1. Can’t stop. Won’t stop.

2. I decided that there are some perks to being sick. Having my eyes feel like they’re bulging out of my head is not one of those. Getting to sit back and relax while the Husband washes the dishes from dinner? A definite perk!

3. I decided today that Operation Make Time for Exercising really needs to be put in place… like yesterday. I’ve been horrible about getting up in the morning when I have things to do, and my lack of fitness is no good. So next week, I’m all about getting in at least 4 workouts, even if that means I need to get up early in the morning. It’s time to just suck it up and do it!

4. When I’m sick, all I want is fries. I don’t get it.

5. I recently added some blogs to my reader, which I am incredibly excited about. Sometimes I feel like I live under a box when it comes to blogs. You should definitely check out:

6. Did this week fly by for anyone else? Yesterday I woke up and could not believe it was Thursday. I’m so happy these days are flying – only two weeks until Winter Break!

7. Don’t forget to enter my giveaway to win a pair of Oakley sunglasses. Sunglasses Shop actually asked me to extend it until next Wednesday (the 12th), so you have plenty of time to enter and tell your friends about it!

8. Tonight is my staff Holiday Party, and I am pumped (one of the reasons why I HAD to go to the doctor yesterday afternoon to get pumped full of meds to get better). Each year a different grade level plans the party, and this year was 5th grade’s turn. You better believe it’s going to be a fun time – we’re fun people! ;)

9. WHERE IS THE SNOW?!?!?!?!? For real.

10. I’m typically super pumped to make a crap-ton (yes, it’s a word) of holiday cookies, but this year I just don’t know if I want to. Does anyone just want to send me cookies instead? Just joking – kind of…

11. Have you heard that my beautiful friend Kathleen had her baby boy last Thursday? He is all kinds of perfect, and I can’t wait to meet little Jackson!

12. It’s finally the weekend, people! Have a great Friday!

So this might sound silly but when I need to make myself workout in the morning I sleep in my workout clothes! That way I don’t moan and groan in the morning about having to get out of my nice warm cozy bed just to freeze while swapping out of my pj’s

Rachel Jones December 7, 2012 at 3:19 pm

I have done that too! I at least wear the workout top (if it is just a yoga top) so my hubs doesnt think i am TOTALLY insane. :)

Happy weekend!

I have been reading Rockstar Diaries forever, love her blog! Cutest family ever!

Hope you have a great weekend!

p.s. No dog for us, maybe one day! We are happy we could get one now since we have a house and would build a fence if we got one too!

I have a holiday party tonight too, and I’m excited! When I washed my hair this morning after the gym, I was sure to throw in a bunch of mousse and gel so I can curl it up purdy tonight. :)

Sick cravings are funny. All I want when I feel icky are bagels. Carb much?

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey December 8, 2012 at 6:46 am

I think that’s it! Everyone wants carbs!

I’m just as confused about no snow as well. I live in Duluth, MN and we had a foot or so about a week ago…and now its GONE! It has actually been balmy. I love fries as well, and I’m sure I could eat them nonstop… And I’m hoping sickness won’t hit! Almost done with my semester, so its stressstressstress all the time! (and no time for exercise = sad).
And looking at the blogs you’ve added…good addition of Rockstar Diaries. Definitely stumbled upon this about a year or so ago, and it just makes me happy! They are honestly one of the cutest families.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey December 8, 2012 at 6:50 am

It’s pretty balmy here too!

Reply

Kerry @ Totes My Oats December 7, 2012 at 9:41 am

Those truffles are on my list for the next time I hit up TJ’s. Your tree looks so beautiful!

Reply

I am exactly the same way with the whole sick thing. All I want is yam fries and ketchup. Those slippers are adorable.

Reply

Amanda @ .running with spoons. December 7, 2012 at 9:52 am

Where’s the snow? Probably over here. We’ve been getting pummelled with it for the past week or so, and I’m more than happy to send some your way. I’ll even throw in some cookies :D

Reply

Been thinking of traveling 45 minutes soon to my nearest TJ’s and you just sealed the deal. :) Any other TJ unique clean (the coconut chips and truffles will be an exception) items I should add to my list? From The Gracious Pantry’s recent clean list I have added Pure Bars, Ak Mak crackers, and Aioli Garlic Mustard Sauce to my list!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey December 8, 2012 at 6:53 am

Oh gosh, any of their nut butters, their triple layer hummus, horseradish hummus, brussels sprouts stalk (they might not have any anymore), honey sesame almonds or cashews, quinoa tortilla chips, pumpkin butter

Reply

Melanie Zimmerman December 10, 2012 at 10:45 am

Thanks Chelsey! I just discovered your blog in recent months but on Friday I went back and found you did a post on you’re favorite things at TJ’s which was so helpful!! I made the trek into Pittsburgh on Saturday for TJ’s but my phone was having a fit and I couldn’t pull up my shopping app- at least I remembered to get all things I wanted but three. And…..they aren’t able to get the Roasted Coconut Chips in stock!!!!! I wonder if it’s a nationwide thing? They have the coco strips but they even told me they aren’t as good :(

Reply

Melanie Zimmerman December 10, 2012 at 10:48 am

I did get THE truffles, along with the FF refried beans, steamed lentils, organic peanut butter, Pure bars, aioli garlic mustard sauce… So excited to say the least lol!!

I feel like the week flew by too! Yesterday, I was so confused it was already Thursday! Where the heck did it go. I’m the same with holiday baking this year, I so want to make a million different things, but just can’t figure it out so I haven’t baked anything. I wish we had snow over here too, boo.

Reply

Hayley @ Running on Pumpkin December 7, 2012 at 10:30 am

Roasted coconut chips are THE BEST! Craving them now. I haven’t been in the mood to bake holiday cookies either but I’m always in the mood to eat them and wish I had a little elf to make them and have them waiting for me when I get home from work…

I can. not. stop. eating those roasted coconut chips. My goodness they are addicting. I’m working on creating my own recipe because this habit could get expensive! I can’t imagine a holiday party planned by fifth graders - I have a hard enough time planning a party myself! Have fun!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey December 8, 2012 at 6:55 am

It wasn’t planned by the fifth graders, but by the fifth grade teachers. ;) Sorry, that sentence was confusing.
